Oz World (or The Oz: World of Fantasies) is a social online game supported by Ongameport. The game is unlike other fantasy online games you might have heard of. Although there is a focus of role-play here, it is not an MMORPG. In MMORPGs you have to complete quests and fight enemies and other players in order to succeed. Not in here. What you have to do to succeed is, well, fishing. You have fisher levels in this game; there is a technique, skill and tactics involved in fishing. With fishing, you will gain gold and social status. The reason for the lack of combat is because the developers wanted this to be more a social environment than a combat game. The whole purpose of the game is to serve as a gathering point for people to meet and interact with each other. Besides fishing, you can obviously customize your appearance as well as your living environment. In the end, the game is just one big chat-room with fishing serving as a common practice for all the users to interact. It is a good idea if you want to meet people, but if you are looking for an MMORPG you should look elsewhere.
